Morocco is unusual, and my lack of information about the Islamic religion makes me anxious, but the country’s landscapes, buildings, and beauty would entice everyone! It is a country that never gets empty with tourists throughout the year. In Morocco, there are a lot of things thing to visit, but here are some of them and other information that can help you.
Things to Visit in Morocco.
There are many places you can visit in your Morocco desert tours or Viajes al Desierto de Marruecos. Here are the main cities to visit
Things to do in Casablanca
In Casablanca, you can visit the 2nd largest mosque in the world, Hassan II. It is also one of the few mosques that can be seen in Morocco. And in terms of size, it is second only to Mecca.
What to do in Marrakech
Marrakech is one of the busiest tourist destinations in Morocco. Make sure you add it to things to visit in Morocco. Thus, in this city, you can visit ancient palaces, such as the Bahia Palace and El Badi. They have been boasted there for centuries. And you should visit museums, such as the Museum of Marrakech, to delve into the country’s history. Later, you discover beautiful gardens like an oasis, such as Le Jardin Secret and Jardins de Majorelle (where, incidentally, the ashes of Yves Saint Laurent are located ). Also, you must visit Jamaa el-Fna Square, which is very crazy and full of snake charmers and people trying to get monkeys on you. Finally;
visit the newer part, like Place 16 du November. It is very beautiful, modern and full of designer stores. There’s even Mcdonald’s there! If you are Jews, you should also visit Mellah. It is one of the most visited sites in Morocco on Jewish heritage tours or Viajes judíos en Marruecos
Activities in Ouarzazate
The village of Ouarzazate is on the way to the Zagora desert on tours. It is a millennium city as well as the setting for various films, including Game of Thrones, The Bible, and Gladiator. There are recording studios to visit as well as the impressive fortified city of Ait-Ben Haddou, which has been around for over 1200 years. Its small lanes set the town apart from anything we’ve seen previously. It is possible to ascend to the city’s highest peak, from which you may have a panoramic view of the desert region.
What to Do During a Desert Tour
Visit the Zagora desert for two days and one night, or the Merzouga desert for three days and one night, and experience the near-death experience of sleeping in a tent in the midst of the desert! And, if it’s winter, feel the coldest of your life at daybreak! Just mentally prepare yourself: you’ll be spending a lot of time in the vehicle!
How long would be ideal?
For our trip, which included Marrakech and a 2-day desert tour, 5 full days were sufficient to keep things calm and enjoyable. Add 3 or 4 days if you wish to go up to Fes or see Chefchaouen, the blue city.
How much money should I take?
Take euros or dollars and convert them for dirhams at a good-priced exchange office in Medina. Some can be exchanged at the airport. Some businesses, primarily tourism agencies, accept euros directly. when you are in Morocco, very few establishments took credit cards.
What about the women? Is there an issue?
Islam is a religion notorious for treating men and women differently, which is nothing new. Wearing a veil is not required. It’s important to be cautious, but we didn’t encounter any big issues or lack of respect for women.
When to visit Morocco?
It all depends on your goals. It will be scorching in July and August, with temperatures easily exceeding 40oC. If you go from November to March, you risk getting frozen, and there is still a potential of rain, like we did, no matter how dry the weather is. It is also recommended to observe Ramadan, a month during which Muslims fast, among other laws, not to avoid visiting the country, but to prepare for specific times in businesses. Ramadan begins and ends at different times each year. You may write in Google, for example, ” Ramadan in 2017 “, and it will respond to you at the appropriate time in a response box before the search results, which is quite convenient! According to reports, it doesn’t cause too much trouble, but it’s useful to know for strategic planning.
