5 Best Online Learning Resources for Kids

You want your children to be interested, pursue their passions, and continue to learn even when they are not in school. Wouldn’t it be great if they knew where to go for a different explanation or a little support when they were stuck on a homework difficulty or dealing with new academic material? That is exactly what the greatest online learning sites for kids do.

The truth is that there are thousands of websites and apps that claim to be “learning resources.” It’s a broad classification. “Kids” is a broad term as well. We use the term in the broadest sense possible here, so you’ll find websites offering learning possibilities ranging from preschoolers (ages 3–5) through early college students (18 years).

We searched for sites that did at least the following things to limit it down.

  • Provide specific academic assistance.
  • Encourage children and teenagers to investigate educational topics that they are interested in.
  • Teach extremely young children basic concepts and abilities.

How Did We Choose the Best Kids’ Learning Resources Websites?

We also gave high marks to sites that met the following criteria:

  • Content that is dependable, trustworthy, and accurate
  • Educational hooks indicate that the content is either directly tied to academics or allows children to explore issues that are educational in nature.
  • Materials and patterns that pique the learner’s interest
  • Interactive components that are stable and simple to use
  • Where applicable, clear pricing and payment information

We’ve included a few websites that provide instructional materials tailored to the American school system, such as AP (Ap Classes, or university-accredited) classes and Regents tests. Sites with differentiated learning for non-US-based educational standards were not included. We also left out programs that are acceptable for adult learners but also appeal to children, such as Jane Goodall’s MasterClass’s family edition of the learning resources.
